Team Tryouts
Travel and Regional Team Classifications New for 2008/2009 Season! Travel Teams: Our travel teams are the same Orange and Navy teams everyone already knows and loves. These are the teams at the 15s-18s age groups that will be traveling to the National tournament and will be attending national qualifiers in an attempt to qualify for the Open Championship. Practice and competition frequency has gone unchanged, as well as the duration of the season. This opportunity is not for every player. The commitment is not insignificant, and for some is too much. These teams will practice 2-3 times per week, and play on average 2 tournaments a month. The Winter/Fall Season starts in October and ends in February. The summer session then picks up after boy s high school in May and culminates in early July at the National Tournament. We at St. Louis High Performance realize that not everyone can make such a commitment or make our very talented and elite travel teams. With that understood we have decided to create and offer our Regional Team option. Regional Teams: Our Regional Teams, are exactly that, regional. They will not travel outside of the Gateway Region to compete in tournaments. These teams are geared toward the busy student, multi-sport athlete, and players that did not make our Travel Teams. For the players that could not make our travel teams due to either inexperience, or phase of their physical development, this option is not a watered down version when it comes to training. These teams will be trained in the same elite standard that St. Louis High Performance is known for. The Regional teams will not practice or compete as often as our Travel Teams, practicing 1 sometimes 2 times per week, and 1 sometimes 2 tournaments a month. The Regional Teams will begin training in October, and will complete their season prior to the Boy's MSHSAA season in March. Those looking to extend play post high school may have options to move up to our travel teams, or participate in our Summer Team program. For the busy student athlete or the player that still wants to be a part of the High Performance experience this is a great option!
