Boys and Girls 10s Developmental Program

Who is St. Louis High Performance?
St. Louis High Performance is a volleyball program, with one vision and mission - our player s development is our number one priority. We accomplish this by providing dedicated and experienced coaches that are held accountable by the High Performance leadership through coaching evaluations and coaching development sessions. They train just as hard as your sons and daughters to become better at coaching. Unlike other clubs, the St. Louis High Performance leadership sees the importance of establishing skill sets to allow our athletes to progress from age group to age group. These Skill Sets are established to ensure that players are able to progress throughout our program, and learn the required skills, techniques and strategies to allow success at the highest levels. Coaches and teams are NOT on their own to do as they wish. That type of approach will create coaching inconsistencies throughout a player s movement from age group to age group. Inconsistencies do not establish confidence, and will hinder a player s development. Our record of success, along with over 90% of our graduating players receiving athletic scholarships legitimizes the St. Louis High Performance approach.

Program Goal
St. Louis High Performance 10s program is meant to provide instruction to girls' and boys' volleyball players ages 8-10(3rd & 4th Grade). The program will focus on establishing proper technique for the six skills(Serve, Pass, Set, Hit, Block, Dig), teaching offensive/defensive systems, as well as coaching proper movement. As we have done with all of our age groups we have created a plan and established goals for the 10s age group.
Our focus is simple, learn proper fundamentals now so that the players can continue to grow and improve as they physically mature and gain experience. The most important factor in an athlete s development is establishing sound fundamentals. Without fundamentals, gains that an athlete makes through maturity, experience and physicality can never result in a player reaching their maximum potential. Our 10s staff has extensive experience and training to ensure that learning how to play the 'right way' will take place in a fun engaging environment. These coaches are current and former high school players, college players, grade school volleyball directors, high school coaches, and college coaches. They have decades of experience with volleyball players of all skill levels, ages and genders. As we are with our other programs, we are committed to providing the very best in coaching, and maximizing our player s potential.

Program Details
The 10s Program will begin in mid-January, and last for 10 weeks. During those 10 weeks we will group players into teams of appropriate and similar skill level and experience. These teams will practice once a week on Tuesday evening from 7-8:30PM at St. Louis Sport's Center, 6727 Langley Avenue, St. Louis MO 63123. At the end of the 10 week session a 10s Regional Tournament will be played locally in which our 10s teams will participate in. The tournament will last most of the morning and afternoon and will be held on either a Saturday or Sunday.
Those that wish to do more with the program, either by adding additional practices, participating in additional tournaments, or extending the season may do so. However, the costs of doing so will be additional to what has already been paid. That said the focus of our 10s program is on developing proper fundamentals, and not creating a super competitive 10s team that requires a more substantial commitment. The club will not push that option, and it will be up to families on whether or not they want to do more.

Program Cost
The 10s Program cost is approximately $200 a player. This amount includes uniforms, coaching, tournaments, practice time, registration fees, etc. This amount will be due at the post tryout parent meeting Tuesday Oct. 28th, 6PM at St. Louis Sport's Center, 6727 Langley Avenue, St. Louis MO 63123. Those players that make one of our teams will be presented an acceptance packet with more details on this meeting and its requirements.
